Install. There are thousands of packages, so try some out and have fun.
SSH and GPG keys, then
New SSH key.
Add SSH key.
Command Palette. On Mac, press
p. In Windows/Linux, press
git cloneand press
git config --global --list
git checkout checkout(requires Git checkout plugin having been installed).
customentry and hit enter. Now type in the name of the remote branch name. You may find this in GitHub.
Enter, then supply the name of the remote branch you wish to checkout. Lastly, if you make a mistake while typing in the branch name, you will end up creating a new branch with the typo. Be sure to type the branch name correctly.
git checkout --track origin/wendi-5after which you may select the branch within Atom.
Add Project Folderand select your repository. Select files from the directory tree on the right of the Atom screen. Make your edits and save your changes.
editbutton in GitHub, edit directly from the webpage, and preview before committing. Note that only repository owners can edit this way - otherwise, you can create a branch and edit your branch.

Unstagedmeans the files are not ready to be committed.
Stagedmeans the files are ready to be committed.
+symbol next to each file. Alternatively, on the top-right of the Git window, there is a
git commitin Atom's command palette. Enter a commit message that helps you and others understand what changes were made. Then click
git pushin the command palette, or using Atom's up/down Git arrows located on the bottom-right of the window.
git pushthat says "No upstream branch" open your terminal and navigate to the local copy of the repository. Then type
git push --set-upstream origin name_of_branch. From then on you should be able to use the command palette to type
git pushor use the up/down arrows on the bottom-right of the window.
New pull request.
master. Then select the "compare" branch:
